YEAH! First Step "What are bakbones, you ask?
Bakbonze are words. A vertical (upward) stack of Positive words. Words that interlock into eachother because they are all necessary to be Happy. Bakbones are a 'kind-of anatomically correct arrangement of vertebrae that when built represent our backbone , our Spine. Character Building 101: BakbonesTM are the first 3D interactive BUILDING product in the shape of a vertebrae (24 to be exact) to represent the bones that make up our spine (our backbone). We created BakbonesTM to empower children to 'build a backbone', the child's own backbone, each vertebrae representing a (positive) character trait - the fundamental character traits that will ultimately make up their personality (re-code their DNA) and in turn - awareness of positive behavior and to YES! - live the happiest life possible. Bakbonze allow us, our child, ourself, to visually see, feel and learn who we are and who we aim to be...and ask the question; "who am i". Bakbone will give you the character, The kind of personality one needs to navigate this life we live and simply; be happy.
So it is said.... -Life may throw us lemons, but our children can learn how to turn those lemons into lemonade!
Since to this day, in the 21st century, some of the top neuro-scientists claim much work is still needed to understand the brain, our mind, our Personality. -Understanding that science does not have the answers, SO we at BabySmart, have adopted the Freudian theory: HUMAN PERSONALITY, although complex, is composed of three basic elements known as the Id, the Ego, and the Superego. And, these elements work together to create human behaviors; the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, and especially ones behavior toward others. Bakbonze, will help us understand what good character can be and should be, simply to be happy.

Ego the Egghead
With the help of EGO the Egghead, our gel-like malleable head that represents our Mind, (our Brain) that sits atop each set of bakbones (character traits), as they are learned. Ego the Egghead grows, with your child! From newborn, thru the toddler years on up to adolescence! Since every time we learn a new word, our brain changes, it grows. BakbonesTM are a vertical stack of words, to build ones self - ones brain, ones mind, backbone and SELF.
ID - During infancy, before the other components of personality begin to form, children are ruled entirely by the ID. Satisfying basic needs for food, drink, and comfort is of the utmost importance. Fortunately, the other components of personality develop as we age, allowing us to control the demands of the id and behave in socially acceptable ways.
EGO - The ego eventually emerges to moderate between the demands and urges of the id, the demands of reality and the Superego.
SuperEgo - The superego, or the aspect of personality that encompasses internalized values and morals, emerges to try to push the ego to act in a more virtuous way. The ego must then cope with the competing demands presented by the id, the superego, and reality.
Have you ever asked yourself, what YOU, think of you? If you had to describe yourself, what traits would you use? If they could all be positive, wouldn't that be great! Being aware of who we are, and who we can be is the basis for Bakbones. We can change our brain all our life, so as more character traits are taught, yes, taught and learned, yes, learned, as this is an interactive tool to be used by the family. As the family is where our children, as young as a newborn begin to learn who they are, who they can be, their character and ultimately our personality and most import how they and we view themselves.
The backbone of a family is the family member who has strength of character. He/she/they is the one the family turns to and consult in difficult times. This person, as the family's backbone, holds his/her/their family together.
Character Traits create human behaviors; the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, and especially ones behavior toward others. Bakbonze, will help us understand what good character can be and should be, simply to be happy.

Who should build a backbone?
Ideally, each child in your household should have their own backbone to build, the visual and tactile image of their accomplishments will last a lifetime. Bakbonze are not just words in a book, when the page is turned, the trait is forgotton, without meaning; 'out of sight, out of mind'. Bakbonze are touchable, stackable, they are earned traits, that become a visual accomplishment. So then, our character traits become/are our personality, Even the most accomplished scientist, neurologist, neuro-scientist still dont understand the brain, or character, or personality, and most important - Happiness.
With our Bakbonze...Each vertebra (character trait) interlocks into another. They twist, turn and tilt to represent a spine in or out of alignment...So for a child to see all the vertebrae aligned as they are stacked on top of eachother will be a goal.
