the Dutch have high ambitions for their children. While our parenting styles may be different, we see happiness as a means to success, as opposed to success as a means to happiness.

For this is truly a no brainer". Founder, CEO BabySmart USA

It took a ton of research

To be honest, it took a ton of research on the subject of happiness, first reading parenting books, then self-help books, then therapy concepts...but during all the research, the cliche yes, a lightbulb went off.  We were first inspired by a bright yellow 'Happy-Face' planted on the center of a Time Magazine cover, the title -"Happiness", of which the contents covered from beginning to end. Oh so that's it?  We all just need to be 'happy'!  Well, case study after case study in this specialized Time issue by some of the worlds most prominent research universities and neuroscientists,
ended with a quote from the last page,
the last paragraph:

"There is much we do not know about the brain
and it's impact on our happiness, there is much more work
needed to be done on this subject,
or it just must have all to do with our PERSONALITY"

?Our Personality

So we began to dig deeper into Happiness and the science of personality. Those who study this subject is vast!  It's not a new subject, it was studied beginning as early as  300o BC, with Socraties, Platho and Aristotle...Imagine!!!  However it is one, that requires, especially at this time in our world, to address today.  The truth about who we are, the impact we have on ourself, eachother, on society and ultimately on the world. Since neuroscientists or neurosurgeons don't have the answer in this 21st century, we began from the beginning...studying the findings of these great scientists and philosophers and their theories of how the brain and the mind works....especially regarding our Happiness.

science vs psychology

So, neuroscientists have found we inherit on the average only 50% of our DNA,, we also know 50% is leaned in our envirnoment, beginning with the first institution of society....the family, the home.

...OK, Personality

Well that's easy; our thoughts, our feelings and our behaviors...OUR characteristics...our character?

Philosophy

phi·los·o·phy

noun

  1. Quite literally, the term "philosophy" means, "love of wisdom." In a broad sense, philosophy is an activity people undertake when they seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves, the world in which they live, and their relationships to the world and to each other.

We wanted to become wiser on the subject of Humanism. The truth
about who we are, the impact we have on eachother, and ultimately
on the world. Since neuroscientists or neurosurgeons don't have the
answer, we began studying the philosophy of how the brain and the
mind works.

Happiness

Did you know?
There is NO "sad" gene, babies are not born sad  -we inherit, and actually we only inherit betewen 40-60% of our DNA, let's say 50%.  The balance of our "personality", made up of our character traits, is learned from within our environment.

WAKE UP PARENTS:  If you want to join Our GLOBAL effort is to participate in the responsibility we have as a humankind to make this world a better place.  To make each human being, beginning as a child to be the best person they can be.  Since researh does tell us, "Happiness comes from within, who we are, our character, our personality, literally ourSELF. And as science tells us; character
arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life.

If your committed to raising a happy child, within a happy family,

This is just crazy!

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) refers to depression as the “leading cause of disability worldwide” and refers to it as “a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease.”

  • WHO estimate that 350 million people suffer from depression, worldwide.

  • That would be like  every single person in America being depressed.

  •

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 7.6 percent of Americans aged 12 or over experienced depression in any 2-week period between ____________

  •

  • So, although the study of happiness might, at first glance, appear whimsical, it is easy to see how discoveries in this field might be useful elsewhere.

  • To date, very little information is available about the specific roles of genes on character traits....

The Power of Play

Virtually every theory of child development says that play is crucial to development in every way. It impacts cognitive development, social and emotional development, as well as language development.
